In 2005, after the birth of their daughter
Maya, Mike and Stephannie Weikert realized that new parents could
express a point of view through their baby’s clothing, and
saw an opportunity to create fresh, innovative products. Mike developed
Small Roar as his graduate thesis project at Maryland Institute
College of Art and then took it to the marketplace. The family grew
again in 2007 with the birth of their son Eli.
Small Roar, is the fusion of graphic design,
free speech, and baby clothes. Using the graphic t-shirt as an inexpensive
way to make a visual statement, Small Roar gives babies and their
parents a voice.
